How many years have you been riding?

I grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and always wanted a horse. I started collecting metal and bronze horses when I was very young. I didn't want to get too old before I learned how to ride. I've had the blessing and pleasure of riding Freckles, Rene' Maple's horse, since the spring of 2009. I have learned that getting to know a horse is so rewarding and therapeutic. I have learned so much from Rene' in such a short time and feel very blessed.
Rene' has been the patient one in helping me learn how care for, saddle and ride a horse.

What other equine activities do you do outside of the Chicks in Chaps?

I have had the benefit of helping design and make the team shirts and helping choreograph the performance drills.

What do you like best about riding on a drill team?

I have learned that when women have a dream and the motivation, they can accomplish anything they want. This team is a great example of what women can do and I am proud to be a part of it.
